How to Handle Clothing Clutter

messy bedroom

The bedroom is a common area for clothing clutter. Never enough room in the closet means outfits get tossed on the floor, chair, bed or any surface other than the closet. It’s often too crowded, too tight and too much work to hang up clothes. Here's 2 strategies to conquer the Chaos.

1st STRATEGY

Time to purge!

  1. Go Category by Category - Instead of tackling your entire closet at once, focus on one category at a time (e.g., tops, pants, shoes). It helps you stay organized and not feel overwhelmed.

  2. Create Keep, Donate, and Toss Piles - Organize clothes into three categories—items you love and wear often, items that are in good condition but you don't need (donate), and items that are damaged or too worn out (toss).

  3. Consider Quality Over Quantity - Ask yourself whether each piece is versatile, high quality, and aligns with your current wardrobe. Let go of multiples of the same type of item and focus on keeping what serves you best.

2nd STRATGEY

Now that you have less to organize it's time to consider having the right hanger. Check out these 3 tips to straighten things out!

  1. Save Space - To gain 30% more space over thick plastic hangers and prevent clothes from sliding off the hanger, use Slim, Velvet, Non-Slip Hangers. Make sure you order enough for your clothes so your closet has a unified look versus a hodgepodge of varied hangers. These hangers will completely transform your closet organization and aesthetic.

  2. Make it Easy - To make pants a breeze to put away and save on vertical space, use Open-Ended Pant Hangers for jeans and khakis. Alternatively, Open-Ended Pant Foam-Coated Hangers work well for dress pants, as the foam will minimize creasing. You will ask yourself, “how did I live all these years without these!”

  3. Use the Secret Weapon - Lastly, hooks are mini hangers in disguise. They not only help keep clothes off the floor, but are handy to hang outfits that you can rewear, which saves on laundry. This white Wall-Mounted 5 Hook Rack is best behind a door and blends well with white walls.

Out with the old, in with the organized! A streamlined closet means less stress and more style!
